Worship Ministries
Vision Statement

Our vision is to develop both worshippers and worship resources that are authentic, creative, anointed, musically excellent, and passionate, while reflecting Vineyard values.

Our goal is two-fold: First, to see worship birthed and growing in every area of the church’s life; and secondly, to become a resource to the body of Christ, both regionally and to the nations that God’s sends us.  This will be accomplished by:

1. Developing Worshipers

  • Ongoing general education of the church body

  • Specific training in various expressions of worship and the arts

2. Developing Worship Leaders, Musicians & Teams

  • Growing musically – technique & expression
  • Growing relationally, with God & people
  • Developing people who lead, play, and play well together.
  • Develop multiple worship teams, allowing for greater expression

3. Developing Worship Music

  • Hosting song writer and musician training clinics
  • Developing songs, arrangements, and recordings

4. Developing a Resource Ministry

  • Quality worship music resources for the local church
  • Sending of resource people to bless and equip other churches

Worship

Worship is our highest priority in the Vineyard. It's what we believe God created us to do. Worship is something that encompasses our whole life, and is ultimately about the glory of God.

When we gather together to worship God there is one thing immediately noticeable about our worship – the songs are sung to God, not about him.  Worship in the Vineyard isn't considered a spectator sport – everyone is involved.

The words to the songs are projected on a screen and the entire congregation is free to sing while standing, sitting, kneeling or whatever.  Many people close their eyes and just listen while others raise their hands or move with the music.  God promises that he will visit his people and actually live in the midst of their praise.  We believe this promise and expect God to be present when we worship him.  Musicians and singers in the Vineyard movement write most of the songs we sing in our service.

Why we worship the way we do...

The worship experience at the Vineyard might not be what you are used to.  People singing, raising hands, kneeling, clapping, or even weeping during the music can be new to some.   Yet these and other activities are simply the natural reaction to God's presence, and are documented throughout the scriptures.

Lifting Hands

As the worship begins, and the Holy Spirit touches hearts, thankfulness and surrender sometimes cause us to lift our hands.  "Yadah" is the Hebrew word found in the Bible which was translated "Praise."  It actually means to worship with an extended hand.  Examples of lifting hands in worship are found throughout the Bible.

Clapping Hands

We believe there are times of great joy & celebration in the church, and clapping our hands is an outlet for the release of our praise, (Psalm 47:1)  If a touchdown is worthy of clapping at Bronco Stadium, certainly God's worthy of our praise for the ultimate victory He has won!

Kneeling

As we realize who we are, compared to the greatness of God, kneeling can become a natural, outward expression of meekness, humility & submission. (Psalm 95:6-7; Luke 5:8)

Worship

Jesus commanded us to worship Him, not just in spirit but also in truth. (John 4:24) We must worship only the true God, according to the truth of the scriptures, and it must reflect the truth of who we are and where we are.  If we need to cry, we cry. (Luke 7:38)  If He wants us to rejoice, we rejoice! (Psalm 149:2)
